Rainbows
Who are Rainbows?
Rainbows are girls aged 5 – 7 years old and the number of units in Wales grows each year.
What do we do?
We get together in our Units once a week. Here we play games, sing songs, make things, cook up recipes and listen to stories. If it’s sunny we can do all of this outside! There’s always tons to do and it’s great seeing all your friends!

A special cloth badge is to be produced to celebrate the partnership between Girlguiding Cymru and RSPB Cymru, who are commemorating their Centenary during 2011. Find out how you can be awarded one of the badges and help wildlife in Wales by taking part in one or more of several projects.
What have you planned with your unit following the Centenary? Girlguiding Cymru are pleased to present “Beyond the Duck” – a challenge for all sections in which you need to achieve 100 points in order to gain your badge. Sign up to take part now!

The Commonwealth Jubilee Time Capsule
The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) is running the world’s largest history project to mark Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. This is a tremendous chance to develop your troop’s creative media, communication skills and promote inter-generational understanding. It will also help the Girl Guides to learn about different cultures and countries across the globe, as they compile this people’s history of the past 60 years. Rainbows 25th Birthday Extravaganza!
An exciting and adventurous activity day will be taking place at Broneirion on Saturday 12th May in celebration of Rainbows’ 25th Birthday.

Rainbows 25th Birthday Badge Competition
Do you have any budding artists or designers in your Rainbow unit? This is their chance to design a badge to celebrate 25 years of Rainbows. The winning entry will be produced as a badgeand on sale at the Rainbow Extravaganza on May 12th, as well as being on sale to Rainbows everywhere. The winning Rainbow will also receive a goody bag of Rainbow themed items.
