Queen’s Guide Award

queens_guide_awardqueens_guideThe Queen’s Guide Award is the ultimate Award in Guiding and is available to all members of the Senior Section aged 16-25 years.

The Award presents participants with a series of challenges that allow individuals to give sustained service to Guiding and the Community. The Award is based on the concepts of personal challenge and participation, giving individuals the chance to develop skills through activities. These include:

* Teamwork
* Time management
* Organisational skills
* Planning and evaluation
* Communication skills

To become a Queen’s Guide, participants must complete all five sections of the Award within 3 years, unless a planned break has been agreed.

* Service in Guiding
* Outdoor challenge
* Personal skill development
* Community action
* Residential experience

To get started individuals should:

* Contact the County Queen’s Guide Co-ordinator
* Complete the registration form S/QG
* Choose a personal mentor who will support participants through the Award

Activities undertaken for the Queen’s Guide Award may count towards Look Wider and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award; however it is recommended that participants check the relevant syllabus.

Walking Weekend in Snowdonia

A Walking Weekend & approved Girlguiding Level 2 Training & Assessment is to be held from 23rd to 25th March at Carneddau, Snowdonia.

The full cost for the weekend is £65 for Girlguiding Cymru members and £75 for members from other Girlguiding UK Countries/Regions.

This cost includes food and accommodation but excludes personal travel to and from the venue. Click on the title above for more information.
