Girlguiding Cymru Camp & Holiday Centre, Ynysgain, Criccieth, Gwynedd, North Wales LL52 0SAYnysgain is situated about a mile from Criccieth, half way between Criccieth and Llanystumdwy on the A497.
Ynysgain is on the edge of Snowdonia National Park and is surrounded by farmland most of which is owned by the National Trust. Its position is excellent for outdoor activities, including water sports, walking and climbing.
Ynysgain is about a five-minute walk to a beach abundant with shells and stones. The beach is home to many sea birds and seals inhabit the shallow coastal waters.
The three stone residential properties are built around a large courtyard.
The four campsites are each in their own-gated field, surrounded by hedges, stonewalls and trees. Camp equipment is available for hire with any of the sites.
Ty Ni (Our House)A well-equipped farmhouse for 16 people (4 Adults, 12 Girls). This property is fitted with double glazed doors & windows.
Ty Ni has oil fired central heating with radiators in all rooms. The property has 3 bedrooms, shower room, kitchen, living room and dining / activity room.
Ysgubor Hir (Long Barn)This spacious property is a converted stone barn and is suitable for wheelchair users. The property has double glazed windows and doors.
Ysgubor Hir is heated with night storage heaters and new digital radiators.
The property has two bedrooms, shower room and large kitchen /dining room. It accommodates 13 people (3 Adults, 10 girls).
Y Bwthyn (The Cottage)This stone cottage is ideal family accommodation, a small group, overflow to other properties or for indoor accommodation while camping and is equipped for 6 people.
On the ground floor there is a kitchen diner, a shower room, a bedroom with two single beds and easy chairs.
Upstairs there is a large room upstairs with 2 single beds, a fold out settee and floor space for your own camp bed.
The property is double glazed, heated with night storage heaters and new digital radiators.
Ynysgain Camp Sites
Pen Lôn – Site 1Site 1 will accommodate 30 campers. On the site there is a large wooden building housing 3 flush toilets and 3 wash cubicles. Water is available from a tap in the field. Site 1 has a stone built solid shelter in the courtyard - where there are electricity power points and a fridge / freezer, tables & chairs. Shower block in the courtyard.
Cae’r Bont – Site 2This site will accommodate 60+ campers. Water is available from tap outside Y Bwthyn. Site 2 has a stone built solid shelter in the courtyard where there is a fridge and freezer, tables & chairs. The site has 5 flush toilets and 3 showers, which are next to its solid shelter.
Ger y môr – Site 3Site 3 has a sea view and will accommodate up to 40 campers. Site 3 has a solid shelter in the courtyard which has a fridge / freezer, tables & chairs. Water is available from tap outside the shower block in the courtyard. 3 flush toilets at bottom of Ty Ni garden adjoining the site. Shower block in the courtyard.
Cae Bach – Site 4 – PaddockThe Paddock is a field off the courtyard useful for small camps and can be used as an overflow site from the other campsites or properties. There is a covered shelter on this site.
Camp equipment and firewood are available by request.
